The Palmetto Patriots Fife and Drum Corps

We are the Palmetto Patriots Fife and Drum Corps! Founded in 2026 by a distributed group of Fife and Drum and history enthusiasts throughout South Carolina, the Palmetto Patriots are one of South Carolina's premier Fife and Drum ensembles. We are dedicated to preserving the rich heritage of Fife and Drum music in the great state of South Carolina as both a historical and modern recreational institution.

Our group is representative of either the patriot back country militia such as the "Over-mountain Boys" that fought in many of SC's skirmishes and battles (such as King's Mountain) or alternatively some units of the regular Continental Army that wore hunting frocks as an official uniform.

We are a casual group in that we welcome members from all backgrounds and emphasize having fun and communicating the history of fife and drum over strict historical authenticity or rigid comittment requirements and performance standards. We are proud to be one of the first large scale adult "recreational style" fife and drum corps in the state.

Our members are from all over the state and join us to participate as much or as little as they like. We hold virtual practices monthly and in-person practices every quarter in rotating locations throughout the state. Our uniforms were chosen to be a low barrier to entry for anyone interested in joining.

If you have an interest in 18th century fife and drum, colonial history, or both you are welcome to come join us or contact us for more information.
